Guidance

Apple, pencil and bookThe goal of the counseling and guidance program is to develop the academic, personal/social and career skills of students by providing a comprehensive guidance curriculum while working collaboratively with staff, parents, and the community.

The Guidance curriculum will be implemented through monthly guidance classes. Guidance covers a myriad of different topics relative to children's development. Topics will also be specific to individual classrooms. Some guidance topics include:

  • Friendship
  • Bullying
  • Self Esteem
  • Peer Pressure
  • Cultural Diversity
  • Drug Awareness
  • Career Awareness
  • Character Education

Small Group Counseling

Small group counseling is available to all students. Each group will be composed of 6-8 students. The topics will be determined based on the needs of the students. Students are recommended for a particular group by staff members and parents.
