Dear Parents/Guardians and Students:

Welcome back to Charlotte Park Elementary School for the 2009-2010 school year. I hope you have had an enjoyable summer and are ready to return for the coming school year. It is our goal to have everyone fully registered and ready to begin class on Friday, August 14, 2009 which will be a half day. Charlotte Park Elementary School will dismiss at 11:30 a.m. that day. The second day is a full day 8:00 - 3:00 p.m. for grades 1 – 4 and a half-day for Pre-K and Kindergarten students.

If you have not completed all the forms and immunizations required for enrollment in school, please do so immediately and turn in your paperwork to the school office. Our office hours are 8:00-4:00 p.m. Monday through Friday.

You should receive a separate letter from the Transportation Department regarding bus routes and times for 2009-2010. Buses will arrive at school 15 minutes prior to starting time. You may also access this information online at www.mnps.org. under Our Schools/ Buses and Transportation. Other information regarding the opening of school is also available on this website.

For your convenience, the class rosters for 2009-2010 will be posted on Thursday, August 13, on the front doors of the building. This location is visible from the outside and may be checked anytime after noon on this date. Please plan to arrive early on August 14 if you are transporting your child. Traffic is usually more congested the first day and parking is limited.

If you wish to bring your child to school and meet the teacher on the first day, I encourage you to do so. In order for instruction to begin promptly, please take your child to the classroom, meet the teacher and go to the cafeteria no later than 20 minutes after school has begun. We will have coffee available and this will be an excellent opportunity to meet the administrative staff.
